Halloween Bookmarks
If you're looking for a way to get around giving candy out at Halloween, you can give Halloween bookmarks instead, which is a really good way of encouraging young kids to read.
Now, we all know that Halloween has been associated with kids going out trick-or-treating and coming back with probably more candy than they'll ever be able to eat. They actually end up sharing it; parents take bowls and bags of it in to work to share around the office so their kids don't get all of it or sometimes it's hidden for so long that even the parents forget where they put it and it all goes stale.
And with today's continuing attention and education on obesity in America and on helping young kids not to become obese, maybe it's time we stop giving so much candy to kids, even if it is only one day out of the year, and look for more healthy Halloween treats to give out, or find some non-edible Halloween treat ideas as alternatives.
So what alternatives are there to the traditional sugar-filled treats that we can toss in those goodie bags?
