And because it is a party where guests will bring gifts for the honored mother-to-be, party favors are traditionally a standard part of the party supplies and baby shower decorations, just like with any other celebratory event.

And like with any other party, sometimes it's difficult selecting just the right baby shower favors that will be handy, remembered and useful for the guests. To make that job a little easier, here are a few tips:

• Ask friends or coworkers for ideas. What they did when planning a friend's or relative's baby shower or what types of favors did they receive at showers they've been to?


• If you're crafty, you may be able to hand make your baby shower favors and add bookmark baby shower favors to them. For instance, my cousin found cute little flower pots that she hand decorated and put little plants into.
